Description

A California (golden) Poppy plant at the Kern River Fish Hatchery near Lake Isabella, California. These flowers are extremely drought tolerant, allowing them to bloom in the current drought. 

This species of poppy is the state flower of California, giving it its common name. In California, it is a misdemeanor to remove a flower that is on public land or a state/county freeway.

Beautiful flowers!
Composition wise, I'd reflect/flip the image horizontally. So that the bush would grow from right to left. This way you'd look at all the orange flowers and your eyes would not escape the picture right away :)
